Welcome back parents and students! Crazy how quickly the summer has flown by and how anxious we are to start a new semester here at Blanca de Castilla! We hope you all are coming back to school well rested and ready to go-we know we are!

This year we have many new transitions to experience together-new books, a little bit of a change in curriculum, new auxiliares to welcome and a few new English teachers as well. It's going to be a great year and we have many things to look forward to!

We have spent the past few weeks coordinating and prepping for this year in preparation of your new course and are so excited to welcome you back! The first few days we will spend introducing the expectations of this year, getting acclimated to the classroom again, and adjusting to life back at school. After that, we will hit the ground running so get ready!

We can't wait to see what this year brings and are looking forward to another year of expanding our English here at Blanca de Castilla!

Last week was a special week for students at CBC. Our 3rd of ESO students have recently completed a service learning project in their English and Technology classes.

The first element of the project required each of the classes to give a presentation on the ESO program at CBC to students in the 6th of primary. The primary students were very curious and eager to learn about the fun classes and who their teachers will be for the upcoming year.

The second part of the project challenged  students to create a design for a key chain that could be generated with a 3D printer. This task provided students with an opportunity to not only explore their own creativity, but to also utilize one of the unique pieces of technology we have here at the school.

The students spent several classes studying the purpose of 3D printing prior to creating their designs and executing the print for a finished product. Each of the 3rd of ESO classes enjoyed the experience and satisfaction of producing their own creations. The end results were amazing!

It was not until after the printing took place that the fun really began. Students took their key chains to students in the 6th of Primary to give to a student as a token for their advancement to the 1st of ESO next year.

In addition to the exchanging of the gifts, each of the 3rd of ESO classes answered questions that students in primary had about their upcoming year in ESO. From what are the fun classes to who are the teachers, the students were in charge of answering the wide range of questions.

It was a unique experience for these students to be the experts on 3D printing and the entire ESO program.

Students from all levels loved sharing in this experience and we are excited to see what the future holds for each of our students next year in ESO.

In our final projects of the year, the students have just completed arguably their most creative and entertaining projects of the year. Students were expected to work together and generate their own ideas across each of the grade levels. The end result was amazing!

In the 2nd and 4th of ESO, students worked together in developing a FRINGE production. The FRINGE movement focused on performances that displayed an appreciation for the arts and our students embraced the challenge by singing songs, dancing, performing magic tricks and more!
